Dr. Andrew Smith to Speak at Clambake
Andrew Smith, director of the UNH Survey
Center, will be the guest speaker at the Third Annual Rockingham County
Democratic Committee Clambake from 2-5 PM on Sunday, May 14 at the
Portsmouth Elks Club.
The Survey Center is a nonpartisan, public opinion research
center for governments, non-profits, and faculty researchers. Smith
also teaches political science courses at the University on public
opinion, the New Hampshire Primary, and presidential elections. Smith
will present data that New Hampshire will turn Democratic within the
next 10 years!
Smith, a transplanted Midwesterner, received his PhD
from the University of Cincinnati. Before coming to UNH, Smith was
director of the Wisconsin Poll at the Institute for Survey and Policy
Research at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and associate director
of the Ohio Poll at the Institute for Policy Research at the University
of Cincinnati. His research has focused on survey methodology, elections,
and public policy, and he has recently written chapters on polling
in New Hampshire and the 2002 New Hampshire Senate election.
Please join us, all the congressional candidates, as
well as state, and county office seekers, as we celebrate with a down
home clambake at the beautiful Portsmouth Elks Club on scenic Sagamore
Creek. The menu consists of clam chowder, steamers, corn-on-the-cob,
a 1 1/2-lb lobster (steak chicken, or a vegetarian option may be substituted
for those so inclined), and strawberry shortcake.
